1966 Shelby
GT350 Hertz SFM 6S 1401 Car was completed on May 10,
2003 after a 3-year restoration. On the morning of May
11, 2003 a tornado damaged the car and destroyed two
garages and a car trailer. As the pictures show, the
damage is on the driver side front quarter panel, floor,
rear glass, trunk lid and tops of the rear quarter
panels. The Shelby was restored to MCA Concours
standards. All the nuts and bolts, panels and even the
glass were all NOS or original to the car. It was in
storage for over 20 years completed disassembled. Three
years of searching for all the correct parts that were
missing or not able to be reused resulted in an
excellent show car. The only item incorrect on the car
is the exhaust system. She has her original headers,
which are very hard to find. All the numbers match from
when the car was released for fleet duty by Hertz. The
complete restoration is documented. After spending 3
years to complete the vehicle I cannot start again on
her. The vehicle is available for inspection by
appointment. Will consider a possible trade for a 67
Fastback or Boss 302 in excellent condition plus $$$.
The reserve price is very fair even with the damage,
please do not ask. The vehicle is not in the Shelby
Registry however, it is a true GT350. Many notable
Shelby people have confirmed it is a true GT 350. I do
have the original Magnum 500’s that were on the car when
I purchased it. They have been complete cleaned and
re-chromed. I chose to put on the Cragars for different
look. If interested and the price reaches the reserve I
will allow the buyer to select either one of the sets.
This car is being sold were as and as is with NO
warranty. Transport of the vehicle is at the buyer’s
expense. As a bonus the winner of the high bid will
receive what parts still remained after the tornado.

it is the roof that has damage.
This sentence should have read
