Description
This is the real deal. A 1966 Shelby GT350H, Hertz car serial #SFM6S1497 with matching Ford numbers. The complete history of this car is available in the Shelby Registry. It was sold by Gotham Ford in New York City to Hertz at Kennedy Airport. It spent much of its post-Hertz life in Pennsylvania. I purchased the car about ten years ago from a neighbor who had not driven it much. The car was in very good condition at the time of purchase. I replaced the T10 transmission with a toploader for better shifting. And, I purchased the correct Magnum wheels for the car. After several years of ownership, a couple of Shelby Club track events, and several car show awards, I brought the GT350 to Cobra Automotive of North Haven, Connecticut, for what started out as an engine rebuild and an engine bay restoration. As these things usually go, we ended up doing quite a bit more. All four corners were redone, the steering rack was replaced, the body was made perfect and repainted in the same black w/gold stripes, and the engine was brought back to absolutely stunning life visually and mechanically. The interior was not touched as it needed nothing. The car has only been driven a handful of times since the work was done by Cobra about 4 years ago. It needs a new home and it needs to be driven more. This is a truly magnificent car with no stories and no problems. A deposit of $1,000 (non-refundable) must be paid within 24 hours of the close of the auction. The remaining balance must be paid within 5 days.
