This is the real thing, she's not a clone or a wanna be.
She is a genuine 1967 Ford Shelby GT 500, limited production,
designed and built by Shelby American in Los Angeles
California. She has a 428 CI engine decended from a 1966
LeMans winning Ford GT providing 400 + horse power and 440 Ft.
Lb. of torque. She has a 4 speed manual transmission, Sebring
developed, close ratio, 4 speed top loader. The interior is
designed with a fold away rear seat and the first intergal
roll bar with dual harness straps and full instrumentation.
Her original color was lime green but she now sports the 1967
Ford 'Candy Apple Red' with white Le Mans racing stripes and
functional side scoops to cool the large rear drums. She has
Le Mans type air extractors, massive 11.3" front disc brakes,
crisp 16 to 1 power steering, center mounted hi-beam lights
and BF Goodrich tires on magnum 500 wheels (two center caps
are missing). She is listed in the Shelby American World
Registry. The copy I have is 1987 and she's listed on pages
271, 345 and a photo on page 265, number 0241. She was built
in CA, the 241st to roll off the assembly line and her first
owner purchased her from Ray Hunt Ford Inc. in Daytona Beach
Fl. We purchased her from the Jacobe family here in Houston.
She was a show car, her name was Red Rider and she won a
trophy every time she was shown. The crowds surrounded her to
see the beauty and design of a true classic car.
I don't know very much about cars myself but if you have a
question, I'll try my best to answer you.

Because of health problems, my husband parked her 16 years
ago and she has not been driven since. Anyone that knows
anything about cars will know that she needs engine work after
being parked that long. The engine will need a complete
overhall, there is minor spidering of paint on the fiberglass
hood, there is a small rust area on the passenger door, (see
photo) and a very small tear in the seam of the driver seat (I
tried to photograph it but it was too small to see in the
photo). When she was running in mint condition she did 0 to 60
in 5.5, 50 to 70 in 2.8 and in the quater mile she reached 104
in the high 13's with a top speed of 130 +.
It's true she needs some work but in the end you will have
a car some only dream about having. She was a joy to drive, to
show and just to say she was ours.
