1967 Shelby GT 500 - Unrestored Original

You are bidding on a Beautiful 1967 Shelby GT 500, complete with the following features:

 114,000 Original Miles
 428CI Police Interceptor Engine
 4-Speed Manual Transmission
 Front Wheel disc brakes
 Power Steering
 Original Magstar Wheels
 Functional brake scoops and ducting
 Outboard lights
 Inertial shoulder harness, and seat belts
 Fold down rear seat
 3.50 ratio locker axle
 Dark Moss Green metallic
 White Lemans Stripe

This vehicle is an Original, un-restored example of one of the rarest, and most popular muscle cars today.

For those of you seriously interested in this type of vehicle, I won't bore you with statistics and background on the history of these cars, so I'll get to the specific points.

This car is numbers matching, (original drive train) that has had no apparent collision damage, rust or rust repair.

The following items have been repaired or replaced on the car within the last few years:

 Front end replaced (All NOS parts)
 Rear springs and Shackles
 Clutch and mounting hardware
 Transmission seals and gaskets
 Exhaust system with H-pipe
 Dual carburetors completely restored and re-built
 Fuel line
 Rubber Brake lines
 Radiator boiled, flushed and restored
 Brake pads and shoes (Drums and Discs in excellent shape)
 Alternator and starter (Original's rebuilt)
 Ignition Coil, and starter solenoid
 Spark plugs and spark plug wires
 Voltage regulator
 Battery and all battery and starter cables
 Correct shifter and linkage
 KYB shocks all around

The following items are in excellent condition, although I can't verify if they are original or not.

 Dash pad and dash trim
 Seat covers and trim
 Door panels and hardware
 Carpet and scuff plates
 Gauges and wiring harness

The following items are either missing or not correct:

 Smog equipment and plumbing (Thermactor system as this was a California Car.)
 Ammeter (Was apparently replaced early on with a SW, but it is not a green line gauge. I am in the process of purchasing a correct one, and it will go with the car.)
 Fiberglass tail light panel has one crack from the tail light opening.

I would conservatively describe the condition of this car as a high #2 vehicle, and all my efforts since I've owned the vehicle have been to maintain and improve the mechanical and cosmetic condition as a "driver".

The rapidly increasing value of these cars in the last few years has led me to rethink the wisdom of driving this car even occasionally, so I decided to let someone else enjoy this very strong (and I emphasize STRONG) running muscle car.

 The condition of the fiberglass (except as noted above) is excellent, and original.
 The condition of the paint is good. (The car was painted about 12 years ago, and it was a typical body shop paint job, but it still wears and shows very well, but there are some chips and nicks.)
 The condition of the chrome is mostly very good, the bumpers are bright with no pitting, the mirror has some pitting, but is still bright, and the interior chrome has some pitting but is still fairly bright.
 The mechanical condition is excellent, with some minor oil leaks as the oil pressure is very strong, (45 PSI at idle when hot)
 The under carriage is in excellent shape, with a great deal of the original red oxide primer visible

Although I am certain there are no defects or problems other that what I have discussed, this car is sold "AS IS" without warranty, either expressed or implied.

If you have specific questions, you may contact me at joelmccosh@hotmail.com or phone me at 816-891-8670.

Thanks for looking, and good luck!
