68 Shelby GT500 Convertible AC/Auto

1968 Shelby GT500 Convertible Relist. This car was built February 21st 1968 at Metuchen, NJ. The car still carries its original red oxide color on the original floor pans. This car has never been in any accidents and has never had any rust issues. The car was delivered new in Houston,Texas in early 1969. The car was equipped with a 428 police interceptor engine, C-6 automatic tranny, a 3.20:1 conventional rear axle, PS, PDB, AM Radio, Power Top, Tiltaway Wheel, Factory Installed A/C, 10 Spoke Wheels including the spare (Original Equipment, not repro's) It was ordered through (DSO) AO Smith. The car has survived exceptionally well, with 1 re-spray, new top, and a freshening of the original drive train. The original Carburetor and Distributor have been replace with available service replacements. The exhaust system was replace from the Y pipe back with alluminized Flowmasters but retaining the original tips. The Ride and Drive is exceptional the original interior has minor flaws on the console lid. However, the flaws are in the stitching only. The seats, carpets, dash pads, wood grain are exceptional. The caveats are non original carb and distributor, and the convertible top color was changed to black. The car still carries its original "buck" tag attached to the right inner fender. The codes listed on the door plate are as follows: Body;76B Color;Y_Trim;6AA_Date;21B_DSO8D2549_Axle;6_ Transmission;U_Vin;8T03S169175-00477. This car is listed in the Shelby registry showing 2 owners in Texas, 1 in California and 1 in Georgia.
