This restored 1969 Shelby GT-350 four speed convertible VIN
9F03M480851 has never been entered into a competition though I
am sure it would drive away with first place. It is truly a
beautiful car with all matching numbers. I purchased this
vehicle in New Port Richie, Florida, 22 years ago. The Shelby
Registry shows the car was originally sold to a dealership in
Columbus, Ohio. In 1982 I drove the car from Florida to
Illinois where it has been continuously garage kept.
This amazingly fast car has a 351 Windsor 4V, and factory
four speed manual transmission. Factory Power steering and
power disc brakes and only 55,461 original miles. In 1987 the
vehicle's meticulous restoration was completed. The engine and
driveline were in great shape and run strong, therefore they
were not rebuilt during the restoration. The car has never
been in an accident. Since its restoration, there has only
been about 300 miles put on the vehicle, none of which has
been in the rain or snow. The original white comfort weave
interior is in excellent condition, no rips or tears. A new
white convertible top was professionally installed during the
restoration. The original tonneau cover for the convertible
top was retained. The original Shelby five spoke wheel rims
are on the car and the original B.F Goodrich space saver spare
tire and air cartridge, are in the trunk and have never been
inflated. The factory AM/FM radio works like new. The under
carriage, the body and the engine compartment were detailed
with no expense spared. The under carriage is painted black
matt, therefore it is not the correct red oxide primer color.
The driver's side rear quarter panel was replaced due to
slight rusting. The passenger side rear quarter was repaired
with a metal patch panel. I had the stripes painstakingly hand
painted on since the quality of the stripe kits were
unacceptable to me. I had the car repainted with the correct
Black Jade color. After 15 years the car looks as good as when
it was restored. Everything works on the car except for the
rim blow horn switch. This is an extremely clean car. But see
for yourself with an inspection.
