1964 AC Cobra CSX-2167 - “The Real Deal”
|
|
Welcome all Collectors and Classic Car
Lovers.
We are proud to introduce this
authentic 1964 AC Cobra. Here is some significant historical facts
surrounding the AC Cobra CSX-2167:
A prototypical Production
Line History-AC Cobra 2167 was the second 289 small block Cobra to
be manufacture by AC CARS Ltd with -every- advance Mk.II (new model)
mechanical part upgrade.
-Ultra Rare Factory
Paint Color- One of only three special Svecia Red (Ruby red)
CSX designated AC Cobras ever produced by the AC factory for Shelby
American.
-Unique Aluminum Front Cooling Scoops-
According to information listed on the original Shelby
American factory invoice, along with supporting documentation from
both the Shelby American "Cobra Service Bulletin No.6" and pervious
ownership records. AC Cobra 2167 was first utilized by Ford Motor
Company (FoMoCo) for what is believed to be experimental proposes
relating to above mention cobra service bulletin. The service
bulletin relates to excessive cockpit heat troubles some Cobra
customers were experiencing in 1963-64.
-Fully Documented
with Updated Research Information- 2167 is fully documented
with an unbroken chain of previous ownership history which dates
back thirty seven (37) years to Ford Motor Company. Totaling only
four previous owners, one interesting fact concerning the ownership
history of 2167 is that the second owner, a Mr.Ray Cuomo, was one of
Carroll Shelby's world famous Shelby American Cobra Team race car
driver's from 1963 to 1965. Mr. Cuomo is alive and well today and
has prepared a personal letter documenting the fact that he did own
2167 in the late 1960's. In Ray's words "the cobra was my personal
weekend driver".
-All Important, the Chassis, Body
Panels, and Engine are Original- Documented 28,250 original
miles with a -NO- accident history. 2167 is a all matching number
Cobra with no surprises. Has its original factory hardtop.
Current Condition: Represented in 1997 Shelby
American World Registry (SAWR) to be an Original/Restored 1964 AC
Cobra Mk.2 with an older repaint (Emerald Blue), which was done in
1986. This is still the current condition of AC Cobra 2167 today,
beautiful and Original. A very nice weekend driver. Kept in a heated
storage most of its life.
(Note: the mileage information
listed in the SAWR for CSX-2167 is a misprint, should read "28K
miles" not "38K miles". Also the footnote part that reads "needing
paint and upholstery" is also second hand misinformation. But
remember, without the SAAC there wouldn't be a Cobra collector
world, as we know it today! Please keep up the good work SAAC!)
If you are looking for a good solid appreciating investment,
or a highly collectable museum piece, or just maybe a nice all
original Cobra driver. 2167 is all of the above. This is truly
without question a lifetime opportunity to own one of the most
important small block Cobra Mk.II in existence today.
