1965 Cobra CSX
4039 A true Cobra built by Shelby American and registered with
the Shelby American Automobile Club. This is as close as you
can get to the CSX 3000 series - as you can get. It is 1 of
only 4 hand built "Kimmins" aluminum body. Not a "Kirkham"
aluminum body and definitely not fiberglass. The difference
between the Kimmins and Kirkham are noticeable. Kimmins is
hand built aluminum rolled around the frame just like the CSX
3000 series vehicles. This car was at the SAAC 27 meet in
Fontana, California and was track driven to 145 mph. A
gentleman call "Carlos" who assembled this vehicle in the old
Las Vegas plant and who still assembles vehicles in Shelby's
new plant, came over and admired the workmanship on this car.
He confirmed the rarity of this hand built car. Carlos stated
"We don't build them like this any more. This one was build as
if it was a CSX 3000 continuation car." Even Gary Patterson
(Director of Marketing for Shelby American) was on his hands
and knees looking in, under and around this car. IT IS
DEFINITEL Y UNIQUE being that it is kept as a raw aluminum
version (not painted) so that people can appreciate the fact
that this is definitely "NO FAKE" as the license plate states.

Soft top Summary This particular vehicle is very rare in the
fact that it is 1 of only 4 built. You can definitely order a
new one, but it will not have this rarity of low serial
number. This vehicle has been broken gently and fine tuned to
precision performance. Attention to detail was done so that it
is an exact and I stress exact replica of Carroll Shelby’s
personal Cobra CSX #3056.
