Hertz GT-350H Rent a Racer with an extensive
RACE HISTORY. This car has an extensive
racing record in the Shelby Registry issued in
1997. This car's data is listed on page 481 of the
registry and there is a photo of the car in actual competition
on page583. Additionally, there is 1/3 of an entire page
devoted to telling this car's race history and
exposure to Carroll Shelby. Also has extensive
history in publications, including Mustang Monthly
and The Shelby American #39 and Fabulous Mustangs.
Driven in multiple SAAC races like Watkins
Glenn, Lime Rock and others.
This car comes complete with a copy of its
original Vehicle Invoice, Owner's Manual,
SVRA Racing Log Book, and clear title.
This car has an unquestioned heritage, is beyond any
doubt a REAL Shelby and is an awesome piece of racing
history. An investment that is sure to appreciate
in the hot Shelby muscle car market.
Condition: The paint looks excellent for driving and
shows, but could use rework if you want show quality type
paint. This car is "AS RACED" and so the paint is less
than perfect with a few scratched here and there and the
occasional paint chip here and there. I have taken
the car to one show and had multiple compliments on
how excellent it looked - so I believe I'm accurately
representing the paint when I say it looks excellent for
driving. I have done limited driving in the car, but it
appears to drive out OK with no obvious problems.
Engine runs strong and sounds good - has headers and a low
restirction exhaust system (new) and really is
impressive.

Condition: Interior looks great, needs detailing, but
has no splits in door panels, seats or dash. The paint
looks excellent for driving and shows, but could use
rework if you want show quality type paint. This car is
"AS RACED" and so the paint is less than perfect with a few
scratched here and there and the occasional paint chip here

Original equipment included rear seats but somewhere during
its life a "R" code spare tire kit was added and the rear
seats removed (see photos). Also had originally an
automatic transmission, but again, this was replaced with a 4
speed for racing purposes. This is fairly common with
the Hertz cars and in our opinion in no way detracts
from the value of the car. Hood was originally
fiberglass with steel, but was switched to all
fiberglass. Hood has a slight bow in it on the driver
side, again, as per most Shelbys with factory springs in
place. It is minor and does not, in our opinion detract
from the car's appearance to an appreciable degree.
Interior is excellent with all the hard to come by Shelby
stuff in place. Carpet looks good in front and back,
although there is one small hole in rear driver side that is
not obvious. Correct Shelby wooden steering wheel.
Suspension appears to be in good condition. Motor is not
smoking, and doesn't appear to be burning oil - but as I said,
I've only driven the car a limited amount. Runs very
strong and isn't missing or smoking. Actual mileage is
anyone's guess, but it shows about 88K and per
the Registry, this could be correct. Car is
tight and has no squeaks or rattles when I've driven it.
Shelby tag in place under the hood, stamping in passenger
fender is also present as it should be. Tires are new
with 0 miles as are
wheels.
