Description |

Up for Auction is a very serious driving machine. Not for
the faint of heart. This car is for the person who lives for
pulling gears at 7K and loves the smell of Cam 2 in the
morning. This Shelby was built for speed and it delivers it in
LARGE DOSES. This Shelby has had two previous owners. The
original owner worked for a Ford Dealer in Baltimore and
ordered the Shelby for Drag racing. He raced the car
professionally until he sold it to the second owner ‘Craig
Singhaus’ who also drag raced the car on and off for 22 years.
Craig works for ‘MotorWeek’ the TV series which used the car
in a couple segments. Im told the Revving engine you hear when
MotorWeek opened is this car. This car has great history. The
car is set up for drag racing. I drive the car on the street
and it’s a blast! The engine is a 30 over 428. Its original
except for the valve train, carbs and heads. Craig spent 6 K
in the engine and trans 3 years ago to rebuild them. The
engine has approx. 800 miles on it. It runs an Isky roller cam
with 11.5 to 1 compression. The heads are Cobra Jets, the 4sp
is stock. The rear is the stock 9" with a Detroit Locker with
4.56 gears. There is a drive shaft safety loop and traction
bars. There are frame connecters welded to the frame to help
with the 500 + HP the engine develops. The car runs 12.30's
street trim, and 11.20's 128mph track trim. The power steering
has been replaced with a manual unit. The brake booster has
been removed but goes with the car. Remember, this was a drag
car. Setup for one thing, Getting from point A to point B as
quick as possible. The inboard headlights were moved to
outboards for better cooling. The rear wheel openings have
been enlarged at the back for the larger slicks. Drag shocks
have been added. The battery has been moved to the trunk. The
original battery tray is still in the engine compartment. The
heater hoses have been disconnected, but the rest of the
heater equipment is in place. The alternator is a single belt
unit. The speedo cable broke from the heat from the headers. I
took this car to the local cruise in and the crowd never left.
It even impressed the Pro-Street people! I would add the blue
Shelby stripes to the roof to finish the car.

Condition |
|
The car has 2 rust
places the size of a silver dollar under the paint. Both are
on the fender aprons 8 inches behind the Shelby Tag on both
sides. Other than those 2 places the car is rust free. The
bottom of the car is perfect. Just surface rust. Under the
doors is smooth, Trunk perfect. Rear window perfect. The car
was painted by PAT GOSS also from Motorweek as a favor to
Craig. The paint looks great but some small bubbles are
forming on the trunk lid. The hood looks like a repro. The
interior is original with a small split in the drivers seat 4
inches long. The ford number under the Shelby tag is missing
indicating the panel must have been replaced sometime in its
life, BUT the passenger ford vin is under the fender lip, and
the second Shelby vin is located next to the passenger shock
tower. I guarantee this car to be a Shelby # 931 . The car is
in the Shelby registry. This early car has the working rear
brake scoops. I have many more pictures of the bottom and
interior of this car. Please email me for these pictures.
I am not a dealer, this is from my private collection. I
have two 67 GT500's, I am selling one to make room for
another. Please call me at 301.922.2009..for any questions. Im
home most weekends, please inspect the car if you can. Im
proud of this car and would love to show it to you. Please
don’t ask for the reserve, I have set it below any others I’ve
seen here. Remember this car is a mans car. When you drive up
in this 67 GT500 people will drop what they are doing and
stare with envy. Its drives the local 5.0 mustang gang nuts!.
